Purpose: Collaborative group of healthcare professionals encouraging interprofessional implementation of teamwork and patient-centered care in the practice setting.
Projects and intended outcomes:
- Identify interprofessional models and best practices in healthcare.
- Educational event planning for 2016, date to be determined.
- Topics will include improving patient safety, the customer experience, and interprofessional education; CME credits will be available.
The goal of this symposium held on May 29, 2015 was to promote collaboration between academics, the practice community and supporting health care agencies and organizations to highlight practical aspects of collaborative practice with a focus on academic and practice models demonstrating evidence of improved patient experience, outcomes and safety. The symposium included a range of educators and practitioners discussing leading practices and case studies in both a large group and workshop style settings.
